Where Does True Freedom Begin? | TEODORA/TV
I've been thinking...
What does it mean to be truly free?
Not just in the external surface ways, but in all of the internal ones too?
How do all of the things that we can't, don't, or won't see about ourselves hold us back and keep us going in circles instead of moving forward toward the freedom that we seek?
In this episode, I explore what true freedom really means to me - - - not the political or surface-level kind, but the internal freedom to build a life, career, and creative path that's genuinely my own.
Drawing on one of my favorite lines from Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet and my own story of leaving a decade-long corporate career, I unpack why the biggest obstacles to freedom aren't external circumstances but what’s actually running the show underneath.
It turns out, real freedom - - - creative, emotional, or otherwise - - - doesn't come from chasing it, but from getting honest about all the ways I'm not free yet.

episode notes :
The Prophet, by Kahlil Gibran(link to Bookshop.org, my preferred retailer supporting independent bookstores all over the world.)
First published in 1923, The Prophet is a mix of art, poetry, fiction, and profound spiritual and life wisdom. The book begins when a prophet named Almustafa shares his wisdom over the course of eight essays. In these brief, poetic pieces he touches on the deepest profundities of life : pain and loss, friendship and love, joy and sorrow.
